An educational leader has to play a number of roles to ensure that the system is run properly. He runs the educational system, therefore, he has to be active and keep a record of everything happening in the community because one right or wrong move can affect the whole community and the education system.
The educational leader has to play the role of a figurehead. He has to be the symbolic leader undertaking duties of social or legal nature. This basically means hosting the reception, giving an important presentation regarding the decisions or new changes in the education system. The educational leader has to act like a real leader and motivate people and train them and keep an eye on all the tasks involving the subordinates. He also has to link other subordinates and divisions of the system and lead and participate in meetings and business correspondence with other systems.
The educational leaders have to act as a monitor, they have to collect all the relevant data, they have to understand the system and meet people and share this information. They have to collect the information from external and internal sources and send it to the relevant people in the system who have to be informed. They should communicate and keep everyone informed by using appropriate means. Moreover, they have to act as a spokesperson for the whole team because the education system runs by the orders of the education leaders so these leaders have to present the system and communicate with people through media or conferences and let them know about all the recent changes and implementations in the system.
They have to look for all the possible opportunities to innovate, they should encourage new ideas within the system and conduct meetings to get done with the process smoothly. Moreover, they should keep an eye on all the changes and respond to them in a right manner, for example, taking decisions on how he should react to the rumors against the system or about a recent change being implemented. The leaders should also choose the right methods or the right use of the finance that is held by the system. The finance should be spent on improving the education system.
